The DEMOS prototype and the results of our trials were presented at the 3rd Worldwide Forum on Electronic Democracy in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, on 11-12 April 2002. The DEMOS stand - part of an exhibition of e-democracy services - attracted much attention. We presented an offline simulation of the system, introduced new presentation material, and provided background information about the project. The representatives of the DEMOS team were able to establish a number of valuable contacts. The conference itself showed the increasing importance of e-democracy especially in Europe. In his talk on "Mayors and the challenges of the information society", Giovanni Salizzoni, vice-mayor of Bologna, reported about the experiences with DEMOS in Bologna.
